The paper deals with the investigations of the influence of the warm shock peening on the phase composition and the level of residual micro-stresses in the coated layer during the multilayer plasma welding of the rail steel (0.76%C/1%V) by chrome-manganese alloy (0.65%C/25%Cr/13%Mn/3%Ni).
